Wednesday Ramblings {Pi Day}

Psalm 136:1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his steadfast love endures forever.

I heard a story on the radio on my drive to work this morning about gratitude.  When we are thankful for all that we have, nothing can stand in our way, nothing can hold us back, nothing can bring us down.  It was a great reminder, once again, to just be thankful.  Even through valleys and trials, remain thankful.  Is this hard for you?  How do you remain thankful at all times?

It’s ‘Pi’ day.  I assumed that there would be multiple pie recipes floating around today so I decided against posting one.  Instead, I though I’d link to some pie and pie-inspired recipes on my blog and  invite you to share a link to your favorite pie recipe!

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookie Pie
Apple Pie Layer Cake
Key Lime Cream Cheese Doughnuts (my nod to key lime pie)
Buttermilk Pie (this was an early post, don’t judge the pictures!)
Apple-Pomegranate Crumble
Apple Crumble
Mini Peanut Butter Pies

    love love pies! unfortunately, I haven’t made one yet 🙁 i made a key lime pie cupcake that i’m posting on friday but that’s as close (or far) from pie as i’ll get..it’s on my goals this year though haha so hopefully i’ll get around to it! i bought a $3 pie dish at sur la table 3 weeks ago…i hope to put it to good use! I remain thankful at all times by remembering not to take things for granted and to be thankful for everything that’s happened in my life (for a reason)!

    Growing up, I didn’t really care for pies. But with my adult palette, I’m slowly starting to appreciate pies, all kinds of pies, like shepherd’s pie, pot pie, boston cream pie, and this strawberries and cream pie I recently made. http://damndelicious.tumblr.com/post/18062820080/strawberries-and-cream-birthday-pie

    But I have yet to like apple pie – I know it’s ridiculous but maybe it’ll happen someday!

    I love your Wednesday ramblings! I think gratitude is such an underrated quality. One of my favorite saying is: “It is not Happy People who are Thankful, it is Thankful People who are Happy.”

    Such a beautiful message. Life goes by to quickly not to enjoy the simple things and being thankful for what we have and not to dwell on what we don’t. I love your pie recap! Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cooke Pie would be fabulous right now! 🙂
