Peace & Hope & Remembrance.

Today is a day for remembrance.  A day to search for the hope and peace that I know will come to all.  I have found it difficult to think about the events of the past week, let alone find words that are appropriate.

So I turned to the only words I rely on to find peace in the midst of strife; hope in the midst of devastation; love in the midst of such hurt.  These words spoke to me and I continue to pray them for all who were affected, directly and indirectly, by the recent events that have shaken us all.

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. – John 16:33

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. – Romans 15:13

Thank you, Cassie, for the reminder of where our hope comes from! I keep thinking “In Christ alone my hope is found.”

Great post, Cassie. It’s been such an awful weekend just thinking about what happened.

The verse from John is one of my favorites. I keep coming back to it too.
