A Mix of Ranch Dressing Mix Recipes

Here are three recipes, all of which include a package of Ranch Dressing mix in the recipe that are sure to be crowd-pleasers.  These are favorite “at work” recipes and believe me, they do not last long in the office. 
I know it’s a little un-American but I can’t stand ranch dressing.  I mean, at all.  Not even the smell.  I think that most believe me to be a little insane.  However, I do have to admit that the extra flavor that it adds to these recipes is wonderful and the powdery mix does happen to sneak its way into the pantry for last-minute appetizers that need a little kick.  It’s also very tasty added to mashed potatoes and steamed veggies.
Velveetta Cheese Ball

Two 8 oz blocks of cream cheese
8 oz of Velveeta cheese
1 Package of shredded cheese
Package of ranch dressing mix
Mixture of chopped parsley and crushed pecans
Mix cheeses together with the ranch dressing mix and form into ball. Roll ball in the parsley/pecan mixture and serve with Ritz crackers!
Savory Pretzel Dip
From my coworker, Tim (really, his wife, Brenda)
3 blocks cream cheese (1/3 less fat)
I stick butter
1 package of ranch dressing mix
¼ cup Parmesan Cheese
Mix all ingredients together, spread on a large, shallow plate and cover the top liberally with freshly cracked black pepper, add some pretzels and, viola! A creamy, addictive dip is sure to please any crowd!
Taco soup
From my Mom
1 lb ground sirloin
1 pkg. taco seasoning
1 pkg. ranch dressing mix
1 can corn (don’t drain)
1 can Ro-tel (don’t drain)
1 can chili beans
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can water
Cook ground sirloin until done; add in all other ingredients and bring to a boil.  Reduce the heat and allow the soup to simmer.  The longer it simmers, the better it will be. 
Serve with tortilla chips, sour cream, green onions, salsa, shredded cheese and all of your favorite taco toppings!
