May in Missouri was pretty fabulous, I must say.  I’m definitely out of the first-fourteen-week-weirdness of pregnancy, have regained some energy and had a full calendar of life-living to do!  And it’s hard to hate May when the weather was as great as it was.  Yes, we had some rain, but we also had plenty of sunshine and absolutely beautiful days, too.

Baby went to his/her first Cardinal’s baseball game.  Thus far I have not found it difficult to not have a beer here and there.  However, at the ballpark in St. Louis, it felt a little sac-religious to not be drinking a Budweiser.

We celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary and Paul surprised me with these gorgeous flowers that made our house smell amazing for almost two weeks!  Lillies are my #1 favorite simply for their fragrance!  We had an anniversary dinner at one of our favorite local restaurants, and I was probably in bed by 9:00pm.  I tend to tire easily these days.

So ever since last month’s cinnamon roll, I have not stopped craving them.  So on Memorial Day weekend, I made a batch.  You could say that I might have gone overboard on the cinnamon and brown sugar in these, but I would say that they were just right.  I shared them with some family I visited and no one complained about it either!  We are a cinnamon roll family, for sure.

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that we had our 20-week ultrasound where they checked all of the anatomy and everything looked great.  The baby is growing and measuring right on for my October 7th due date.  We are still working on names and I have resigned to the fact that we will probably not decide until we set eyes on our little guy or girl…which is actually OK with me.

Seeing the baby on the ultrasound screen was such a cool experience.  Even better is hearing its little heart beating so fast each time we go to the doctor.  But my favorite part of pregnancy so far?  Feeling this little life MOVE AROUND inside of me.  I never imagined what it would be like, and now that I’ve experienced it, I just want more.  I’ve started to be able to see movements from the outside, and Paul finally got to feel the baby move last week.  It’s just so magical!

21 Weeks!  Currently 23 weeks and I feel like I’m adding inches to my belly by the day!

Paul’s band, Ozark Underground, has been playing quite a bit around town and I am just so proud of these guys!  They work so hard and they have a TON of fun doing what they do.

So, at first I had zero appetite.  I had to force myself to eat.  And in the first 14 weeks of my pregnancy, I actually lost a pound.  Then my appetite came back, with a vengeance, and I gained 8 pounds in the following four weeks.  And then a few more since then.  So I think I’m on track with where I should be, but lately I have had an insatiable sweet tooth, craving things that I wouldn’t normally care for like donuts and ice cream.  Typically I could pass those things right by, but not pregnant-me.  What the baby wants, the baby tends to get!

So overall, May kind of rocked.  June’s agenda includes my first baby shower and hopefully making some progress on the nursery, along with normal life things like possibly getting back to posting recipes, working and such.
