Echo Bluff State Park
Our second R-pod trip took us to Echo Bluff State Park. We decided to keep our trips in-state for a while, at least until we have a little bit more trailer experience.
EBSP is a fairly new state park and I am not quite sure what I expected but it blew me away! The campground was so nice and clean. The site was perfectly level (this can be a big deal!). There is a good amount of green space between sites. And there are wild, white horses that roam the campground – two adults and one baby. We got our camp setup and they greeted us fairly soon after.
There is a creek that runs through the campground, called Sinking Creek, that flows into the Current River. It’s spring-fed so it’s a little cool and the water is always flowing. Being July it was plenty warm and the creek was perfect for cooling off.
On our second morning we had a pancake and sausage breakfast and then headed out for an awesome hike. There are several hiking trails in the park. They were all shaded so even though it was warm, the sun wasn’t beating down on us. Pearl slept on my almost the whole way.
We did some more swimming and playing in the splash pad in the afternoon, before kicking back for the evening around a fire. We are loving camping!
