Buffalo Chicken Pizza
It’s no secret that we love Frank’s Red Hot Sauce! I’ve told you time and time again that Paul could live on hot sauce alone. So when I ask him what he wants for dinner, I’m never surprised when he says “something buffalo chicken”, which are the exact words that I heard this weekend.
I have had this recipe written for a long time but for some reason had not tried it. What a fool I am sometimes! It is a perfect weeknight meal, you guys! There are many elements to the pizza but everything works together so well. The white sauce tastes a little like ranch dressing (but not too much because you know I’m not a fan!) It cools down the Frank’s sauce just enough and the chunks of garlic, sliced red onions and cilantro all added great flavor throughout. Please try this, and do it soon!
PS – can you believe Thanksgiving is next week? We are spending the holiday with Paul’s family, I’m bringing dessert (of course!) Any suggestions as to what to bake up? Paul has already requested a double batch of my Spiced Apple Cider Blondies!

Buffalo Chicken Pizza Recipe
Ingredients:
Buffalo Sauce:
1 Tb. unsalted butter
1 cup Frank’s hot sauce
3 tsp. packed brown sugar
1.5 tsp. vinegar
2 cups cooked chickenWhite Sauce:
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (I used non-fat)
3 Tbs. mayonnaise
2 Tbs. Parmesan cheese
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. dried dill
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. saltToppings:
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup red onions, thinly sliced
1/2 cup bleu cheese crumbles
6 cloves garlic, sliced in half1 recipe for pizza crust. (I used The Faux Martha’s No-Rise Pizza Crust. It will knock your socks off.)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Prepare crust as directed. Brush crust with olive oil and bake for 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven and set aside.
In a small saucepan, melt the butter. Whisk in the Frank’s sauce, brown sugar, and vinegar and allow the sauce to heat through. Remove from heat and stir in chicken. Set aside.
In a small bowl, mix the ingredients for the white sauce. (It's actually more like a paste than a sauce.) Spread the sauce in a thin layer over the pre-baked crust. Spread the chicken/Frank’s sauce mixture over the white sauce. Sprinkle the onion and garlic cloves over the sauce and top with bleu cheese and mozzarella cheese.
Bake at 450 degrees for 12-14 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from oven and let the pizza sit for a few minutes before slicing.
Cassie's Notes:
I made a quick homemade pizza crust but feel free to use store-bought, or better yet, visit your favorite pizza restaurant and ask to buy some of their crust! If you prefer, feel free to use your favorite ranch dressing or bleu cheese dressing in place of the white sauce. I also think alfredo sauce would be delicious!
I love, love, love Buffalo pizza and I love your version! We make Buffalo pizza A LOT, so next time we make it definitely trying this recipe. I love your white sauce combined with the Buffalo sauce. Delicious!

Yum! I love the white sauce you created. I have only had Buffalo Chicken pizza with a hot bbq sauce before. This looks great. We also love Frank’s Hot Sauce and anything spicy in the Badger Girl/Manatee household. 🙂
This looks and sounds fantastic Cassie! I love buffalo anything and pizza… oh yeah, I can eat a couple gazillion slices of this.
Love it. I also love the commercial for Franks with the old lady and the priest. I put that s on everything. I die every time I kid you not. I’ve not had chicken pizza but I am excited to try. Ideas for dessert, ice cream of course. Bring different kinds, bananas, cherries, whipped cream and sprinkle and everyone can make their own sundaes. We did this at a get together once and people went nuts.
Your are talking my language Cassie!! I love Frank’s Red Hot also and I always have a jar in the fridge and a spare in the cupboard!
This pizza looks awesome and is not that far off something I make. Looks great!
This sounds like a winner! My boys would rave about this one for months, I just know it. Thanks!
I like the sound of this pizza, especially the white sauce…looks delicious.
Hope you are having a wonderful week Cassie 🙂
This is my husband’s favorite pizza that I make! Though, I’ve never also tried putting the white sauce on it! I bet it gives it even more great flavor!
Awesome idea. My boyfriend and I had BBQ chicken pizza last night. We love trying new types of pizza and love buffalo chicken, so this would be perfect for us!
Oh my – he must have an asbestos mouth. 😉 My sons love Frank’s Hot sauce as well.
My son and I love hot sauce! Franks and Sriracha Hot Sauce are two of our favorites. Definitely will give this pizza a try. As for Thanksgiving dessert ideas, what about making a Mexican inspired dessert like a Pumpkin Empanada?
I don’t make home made pizza nearly often enough! I will definitely try this. Especially when the boys are moaning about how they are tired of eating so much turkey soon! My younger son is like Paul. “anything buffalo”. So this is perfect for him. And I love the combo of the yogurt sauce to cool the heat of the hot sauce! And if you make a triple batch of your spiced apple cider blondies…I’ll be over! ;- }
This is BRILLIANT! Honey Bunny and I love Franks, too! I’m happy to buzz this one….
I love buffalo chicken and I love pizza! The white sauce looks interesting, I’ll have to give this a try!

Omg.. My bf is a pizza (and Frank’s) fanatic! He would love this. Thank you so much for sharing!
Lol, Handsome is addicted (like two bottles minimum in our house at all times) to Tabasco Chipotle sauce…. It can be nerve racking sometimes. Maybe I should try this for him 🙂
