White Chocolate Halloween Candy Cups

White Chocolate Halloween Candy Cups

Our youngest nephew turns THREE today.  THREE.  How do things like this happen?  It was just yesterday that I was rushing to the hospital after work to meet him in all his baby glory.  And now he is a little person with a HUGE personality and so much love to give.  I got to spend the weekend with him and his brother, who is five-going-on-25.  They are such a joy.  They love life, they love football, they love their grandma and they love candy.

And they can always count on candy at Grandma’s, as I always do.  My mom lives in a very busy neighborhood in my home town and they start buying Halloween candy in August to make sure and stock enough to be ready for October 31.  She also stocks candy corn and peanuts in a bowl on the counter this time of year and you can be sure I had my fair share of that lovely sweet and salty combo over the weekend.

I usually only buy one bag of candy corn each year but I’m on my third this year and I’m not ashamed one single bit. Particularly because I know you all love it is much as I do.

And with Halloween right around the corner, I thought of the perfect sweet & salty mix of Halloween candy to fill some Athens Mini Fillo Shells.  And then for fun, topped the cups with melted white chocolate.  Your Halloween party guests will go crazy for these…they are SUPER simple, very portable and best of all – you get to choose which Halloween candy you fill them with!

I chose candy corn, salted peanuts (duh), broken up pretzel pieces and regular M&M’s.  And I definitely ate a couple handfuls of that combo as I was putting these together.   Feel free to choose any of your favorite candy bar, candy pieces or change it up for difference seasons!
