Wednesday Ramblings

(source)

What are you counting down right now?  Countdowns are fun and one starts tomorrow!  Sarah at Baking Serendipity is counting down the days to Christmas with a Peace, Love and Joy Advent Jar.  I am so intrigued by this idea and I’ve been brainstorming since I read her post yesterday.  What are things on your list for the next 24 days?  I don’t mean gift lists, trips to the mall and parties…well, maybe a couple parties!  I’m starting my countdown tomorrow and I would love to hear your suggestions on how to spread joy, love others, be peaceful and bring Christ back to Christmas this Advent!

November was a fantastic month!  It went by so fast but it was full of blessings and I can’t wait for what is to come this month.  Our Thanksgiving was wonderful, I hope yours was too!

Have you gotten your cookies yet for The Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap?  I haven’t gotten any yet but I also haven’t sent mine out!  I’m heading to my mom’s house this weekend to make our cookies and they will be sent out Saturday afternoon.  What is your favorite Christmas or holiday cookie?

One more thought for today:

I think prayer is the best way to keep calm through the hustle and bustle of the season!

    Hey Cassie,

I am so counting down to Christmas. I love this time of year. My wife and I are starting to watch some Christmas movies – we have a big collection.

My favourite cookie? I think I would have to pick shortbread or Santa’s Whiskers

I got my first batch of cookies today from the Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap and I’m so scared I’m going to eat them all, they are fabulous! I still haven’t made mine yet. Was planning on doing them this weekend as well since things were hectic over Thanksgiving. I love the holidays. When the twins are napping or sleeping at night I have been decking the halls around the house. Now I can’t wait to sit back and enjoy it this year watching fun Christmas movies (Polar Express is one of my favorites) with the kids. 🙂

I haven’t gotten any of my cookies for the swap yet either! I made my batter (it’s more of a batter to start out with) last night but it has to sit overnight, so I make mine tonight! I can’t wait to see what kinds I get!

Cassie…I really love your messages here. I try really hard, during these hectic times, to set aside some time each day to consider what is truly important. I’m with you on the Cookie Swap. I’ll be making and sending mine this weekend. BUT…I got one set of mine already yesterday. I took a bunch of photographs of them and dug in! They were awesome!!!! I’m so glad I participated. I think we should do it a couple of times a year!

i’m counting the days until Christmas. I listen to music all day long and in the evening watch a movie. Love the ABC family series, although some of the movies I’ve seen quite a couple of times, but i can’t say I had enough 🙂
I think cookies and hot cocoa will keep me going this time of the year also 😉

Keep calm and pray…YES! That is the only thing that calms me during the hustle and bustle of this time of year. I love this post, such fun. We are definitely counting down to Christmas, but also a quick weekend trip to NYC (next week!) with the hubs, and family coming in town for the holiday. All great stuff!

Hope you have a great weekend! I have a hard time picking a favorite cookie..but last year I made a simple chocolate cookie stuffed with a peppermint hershey kiss that was AMAZING!
