Wednesday Ramblings

THESE burgers.  You guys, are necessary.  I’ve perfected the recipe.  They are meatless and my carniverous husband actually asks for these!

Monday night Paul cooked dinner for me with the burger leftovers.  We are sharing his recipe Friday.  I’ll leave you in suspense until then!

Speaking of Paul, two years ago he got down on one knee in a handmade boat and asked me to marry him.  (The story is here.)  And today I couldn’t be more happy that I said yes!

My wonderful friend Claire wrote a thought-provoking post yesterday about cyber envy.  Do you suffer?  I know I do, I am not ashamed to admit it.  I am human and I experience human feelings like jealousy and envy.  BUT what I do with those feelings makes all the difference in the world.  This is a must-read post!

Lastly – I am making my way around this “new to me” blog: Eating Bender.  Jenn is awesome.

What new blogs have you discovered lately?

I love that post from Claire (ps- the link to the post itself isn’t working). It’s definitely true for me sometimes and what that image above says couldn’t be better said.

I loved that post from Claire too. Burgers look delish but I don’t know if I could talk my husband into them…

I wasn’t sure either but my husband tells me every time how much he loves them!

What a sweet proposal story! Now that I see Paul’s love for the wood shop, it’s no wonder he and Ross got along so well. The black bean burger recipe looks phenomenal. I’m going to add it to next week’s meal ideas!

I just read about the cyber envy post and man, she couldn’t have said it better! Btw, you gotta tell me more about that handmade boat! Jason’s going to architecture grad school now so I might just ask him to make me one 🙂

    • Cassie replied: — June 18th, 2012 @ 2:23 pm

Thanks Chung-Ah! It was a 6-month ordeal. He bought the plans from a website called Glen-L designs and bought the lumber and just went at it. It was an amazing process to watch!

Hey! Love the inspiring words so much. My husband makes a great buger and put all kinds of stuff in the meat before making the patty. I will have to get the recipe and send it to you. It’s amazing! We call it, the “JT Burger” 🙂 Hope you have a great weekend! blessings, cat

    • Cassie replied: — June 18th, 2012 @ 2:24 pm

Yes, I would love to see that recipe. We like mixing things up with burger seasonings. Thanks Cat!!

Aww one knee sounds very romantic. Mine wasn’t so romantic. I looked at him when we were standing on the top of the Eiffel Tower and said, “I think you should ask me to marry you now.” and he laughed and thought I was kidding. 🙂

I suppose we all have a bit of cyber envy but maybe it can be different for each of us. We all feel we could do better at some things that others are fantastic at. Pavlov’s Blog is my newest find.

    • Cassie replied: — June 18th, 2012 @ 2:24 pm

      Thanks Maureen!
