Steak Salad with Creamy Avocado Vinaigrette
It is spring. Even thought it snowed last weekend it’s still spring. Spring calls for lots of things around here and one big thing is the grill. We love to grill all year long but something about the days getting longer and the air getting warmer makes me crave some grilled steak. Well, the air will get warmer eventually but we can for sure have some grilled steak!
Which we did recently. And I’m not sure what I like more – steak hot off the grill or leftover the next day in a big steak salad! I’ve said before that leftovers are not always my cup of tea. But steak, I can definitely handle leftover on a bed of greens and salad fixings. Oh, and a homemade vinaigrette.
When I made this salad, I noticed that we had one lone avocado that needed some attention ASAP. I don’t really have a problem eating avocado from the shell with a spoon but thought twice about it and decided on an avocado vinaigrette. The rich flavor was a perfect match for the flavor of the grilled steak and it had just a little tang that was a perfect combination for the feta and golden raisins.
I love simple salads! What are your favorite salad toppings?

I don’t know what I love more… the steak orrr that crazy amazing avocado dressing! Totally wishing I had some leftover steak right now! Have a great weekend friend!
Avocado and steak are BFFs!!! Love that you turned the avocado into a salad dressing – one of my favs as well. So jealous you brought out the grill!! I’m waiting for it to go above 40 for more than 1 day. 🙂
I’m the same way, I love leftover steak!! It’s the one meat I don’t mind cold at all. This salad sounds amazing, and so pretty with the vibrant green vinaigrette 🙂
I love, LOVE, my grill. When we lived in Minnesota, you could find me out there in the yard, dead of winter, 5 degrees. I had my thick parka on, face mask, gloves…could barely see the grill lid. My neighbors thought I was crazy! Tru story. Much happier in CA 😉 Left over steak at it’s best. I make an asian steak salad with left overs and it’s a family favorite.
Oh my goodness – this sounds AMAZING! I love steak salads. And all the better with an avocado vinaigrette. I need to try making that one soon!!
And check it out I will. It looks so yummy!!
Yuuuuum! Love the vinaigrette!
I’ve been looking for a good avocado vinaigrette! I love the idea of combining it with steak.
You can never go wrong with a steak salad! That avo vinaigrette is perfect here.
Fabulous salad, Cassie! It’s like Spring on a plate!
Summertime is SALAD TIME! I cannot wait. It just snowed here, ugh.

Now this is the kind of salad I can call dinner and be happy.
I didn’t think I was going to be so excited for salad season this year but I really am! I love how this salad has pretty much every flavor – sweet, salty, tangy – that’s how you do a salad right!
I love simple salads too! This is definitely a must-try in my book!
This salad looks incredible! I love the avocado vinaigrette, yum!
I love that dressing! I’m so all about making dressing from scratch and using avocados sounds awesome.
And thanks for the link 🙂
Just made avocado dressing the other day & it must be even better paired with a steak salad! This looks so good & fresh for Spring!
I don’t think to put steak in salads nearly enough, but this looks quite amazing! Yum!
Cassie, I am SO in love with this salad! We just had steak salads last night, and this avocado vinaigrette would have been such a great addition to them.
The creamy avocado vinaigrette looks and sounds amazing!! I think I might make a shrimp salad and use that with it ( I don’t eat red meat) and I am sure it will be almost as good!!
Your salad stopped me in my web surfing tracks! That avocado vinaigrette looks so enticing. I must try it. Now off to take a peek at the other salads your mentioned.
This is such a great sounding salad – totally love that creamy avocado vinaigrette. Such a good combo with the steak.
This salad looks fabulous! The avocado vinaigrette sounds and looks amazing, paired with steak it’s perfect 🙂
Some supermarkets sell pre-ripened avocados which have been treated with synthetic ethylene to hasten ripening. In some cases avocados can be left on the tree for several months, which is an advantage to commercial growers who seek the greatest return for their crop; but if the fruit remains unpicked for too long it falls to the ground.,..;.
Bye
