Peanuts & Candy Corn Reece’s Pieces Rice Krispie Treats
I have to admit that I’m just not in the mood for pumpkin yet. Give me open windows with a light breeze; give me roasted butternut squash with sage; give me all the soup, stew and chili you can conjure; bring on fall TV shows but you can keep the pumpkin for now.
I say it every year, but autumn really is my favorite. The colors and the flavors. And one of my favorite, most nostalgic treats is a bowl of candy corn on the counter mixed with peanuts. I know many of you share my love of this fall-favorite. And I just could not pass up a couple of bags of candy corn at the grocery store a couple of weeks ago.
They nearly immediately met a couple of handfuls of peanuts, and this time, an extra addition: Reece’s Pieces. Reece’s Pieces always remind me of my great-grandma Carolyn. I always remember her having the candies in a glass dish. I loved the mixture of candy corn, peanuts and Reec’s Pieces, so much so that I had to do something with the mixture, just to keep from eating it all.
So I decided on cookies. Well, obviously this post is not about cookies. And that’s because candy corn don’t really bake well. Ahem. They might just melt into a sugary puddle of orange, yellow and white and ruin a batch of perfectly amazing cookie dough. And I might be telling you this from experience.
So while telling my mom about the puddly candy corn experience, she said “why not rice krispie treats?” And just one more brilliant idea is chalked up to my mom.

Peanuts & Candy Corn Reece's Pieces Rice Krispie Treats
Yield: 24 treats
Prep Time: 5 min
Total Time: 30 min
Marsmallow-y Rice Krispie Treats with a fall classic fall flavors - peanuts and candy corn, with some added peanut butter flavor from Reece's Pieces.
Ingredients:
4 Tbs. butter
12 ounces mini marhsmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
1 1/2 cups candy corn
1 cup peanuts
1 cup reece's piecesDirections:
Butter a 9x13 glass baking dish.
Heat the butter in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the marshmallows and stir constantly until melted. Remove from the heat and stir in the cereal until coated. Add the candy corn, peanuts and Reece's Pieces and stir until distributed. Pour the mixture into the prepared dish and use your hands to pat it down and spread it out.
Allow the treats to set up for about 25 minutes before cutting into squares.
Cassie's Notes:
To reduce sticking to your spoon and your hands, lightly coat them with non-stick cooking spray or oil.I also like to make Rice Krispie Treats in the microwave, thanks to middle school cooking class! On medium power, heat the marshmallows and butter for about 1 minute, stir, and then heat in 30 second intervals until the marshmallows are melted. Add the cereal, and follow the above directions from there.

I love this idea! I’m on a recent peanut kick, and I love candy corn – this one may have to be done this fall!
I’m not in the pumpkin mood yet either, but I could DEF get on board with these scrumptious rice krispie treats!!!
Moms are smart, but sorry to hear about your little orange and yellow puddles in your cookies, Cassie! Your RKTs are the bombe. Anything with peanut butter in it seems to make everything better. Love Reese’s Pieces and I will always associate them with Gertie (Drew Barrymore) in ET and the wicked Reese’s Pieces Peanut Butter and Fudge Sundae at Friendly’s restaurant where ice cream rules the menu. Thanks for sharing, girl. Pinning!
Mom’s ARE brilliant! And I’ll definitely be making these treats for my girls. Thanks for sharing the brilliance Cassie!
I am so in the pumpkin mood, but then again I have been for weeks! 🙂 Autumn is probably my favorite season too, I love it!! The bars are so fun! I love the peanuts!
You are my popcorn queen, we should have thought to try popcorn cake with these ingredients. I have a friend who makes popcorn cakes for the holidays with M&M and peanuts and marshmellows and they are awesome. This would be a perfect Halloween cake with candy corn, peanuts and fall M&Ms – same concept as Rice Krispie Treats only using your Angel Food Cake pan or your Spring Form cake pan.. Yummylicious!
Thanks for the shout out – always in your corner!
Sometimes mom knows best! I am suck a sucker for candy corn and peanuts–I can take down an entire bowl. Somehow I think in a crispy treat they’d be even more irresistible. You’ve got me in some tasty trouble with these Cassie!
Fall is my absolute favorite too! What an absolute fantabulous idea to add Reese’s to the peanuts and candy corn. Guess what just went on my shopping list? I can’t wait to try this!!!
Love Reece’s Pieces but I always forget about them. I bet they are so good in these krispie treats!

Fall is my favorite too! And I agree with you, not everything needs to be pumpkin. Love a good soup and chili first! Can’t wait to make these treats!
Candy corn is definitely one of those you either love or hate. I’m in the love column, big time!
Totally need to try that combo in my candy dish!!! And I’m loving these treats!!
Such a great idea for this! I love your creativity.
You just saved hundreds of food bloggers from halloween colored oven disasters. 🙂 Instead, we’ll have halloween colored rice krispies! Win! My grandma used to always keep bowls of Werthers candy around at her house. I still feel nostalgic every time I eat one.
i don’t think i have ever heard of candy corn & peanuts until this year and now everyone i know is talking about it. what a fun idea!
I totally wish we lived in a society where I could give away homemade treats to Trick or Treaters, because I would totally make these.

Every year, I buy two bags of candy corn. One to eat until I’m thoroughly sick of it and the other to bake with! This year, rice krispies treats are going to be the winning recipe!
And yes. I’ve made that candy corn cookie mistake before. Not fun.
I could definitely get carried away with all of my favorite things in one dessert!
