Elvis Breakfast Sandwich

Elvis Breakfast Sandwich

When I first met Paul, I ate an English muffin for breakfast nearly ever day – I topped it with crunchy peanut butter, a sliced banana and a drizzle of honey.  Little did I know that my future husband had similar tastes.  Nine out of 10 mornings of his started with a peanut butter and honey sandwich as he walked out the door, and added a banana when he remembered to buy those at the store.  (Ahem.  I do the grocery shopping now.)

The only thing missing from our match-made-in-heaven breakfast combination was the bacon!  Now, I’m not one that insists on adding bacon to everything.  My mom does but I’ve never been a HUGE fan of bacon (I know!).  But for a breakfast sandwich, it’s a must.  Whether your breakfast sandwich is savory or sweet, bacon is a must.

Confetti Cookies for Two

Apparently, it’s the week for sprinkles.  I didn’t plan this out but we will run with it.  Maybe my sprinkle kick has something to do with sunshine and 70 degrees.  Who knows!

Confetti Cookies for Two

I promised cookies so here we are, finally Friday, delivering cookies.  Confetti cookies, that is.  Confetti cookies for two, to be exact!

I made a big, jumbo confetti cookie a week or two ago.  Paul thought I was going to share but I had BIG plans to eat the whole thing by myself.  You know, sometimes you just want a cookie after dinner.  Not a whole batch of three-dozen cookies; not a big bowl of ice cream; not a pan of brownies.  But just ONE cookie.

Confetti Cookies for Two

The solution: a small batch of confetti cookies.  This recipe makes two (still nearly jumbo) cookies: one for you, one for your loved ones.  Or you can go ahead eat both yourself.  No one is watching!

And these fun pastel sprinkles?  Just could.not.pass.them.up.  How could you pass up fun spring colors like these?  I hope the sun is shining in your neck of the woods today.  Happy weekend to you, friends!

A little housekeeping…

Taking a quick break from regularly scheduled popcorn, cookies and pretzels to take care of a little business that effects all of you who receive my posts via RSS/a feed reader.

Note: if you receive new posts via email, social media or just by typing in the URL from time-t0-time, this won’t really matter much to you!

I have moved my daily RSS feed from Feedburner to FeedBlitz.  What does this mean for you?  Nothing really, except you’ll need to resubscribe to the correct feed.  If you received this via Feedburner, the post likely looked like this: (you also might have noticed an ugly yellow bar, depending on which feed reader you use)

You’ll need to click on the link that says http://feeds.feedblitz.com/bakeyourday and resubscribe to my feed to continue to receive new posts in your feed reader, whichever one you like the best.  You should be able to search for the new feed by typing in the site URL or by using http://www.bakeyourday.net/feed.  You can also unsubscribe from the old feed.

If you aren’t sure what to do, please email me (bakeyourdayblog (at) gmail (dot) com and I’ll walk you through it!  Happy Thursday, friends.  Now, should we have some cookies tomorrow?

Wednesday Ramblings | March via Instagram

I think it’s about time for a monthly photo roundup!  I hope your Easter was amazing and I hope April is off to a great start!

We spent a little time at the lake on Easter and this sunset blew me away!

March was pretty much full of good food.  Fried rice, sprinkles, hearty meat sauce and good coffee.
