Outshine Fruit Bars

You know, sometimes in the dead of winter, I crave a cold sweet treat.  This is not a joke – Paul even went on a hot fudge sundae run recently on a very cold night just because I had a craving.  However, if you are at all conscious about how you treat yourself, you know that you can’t go running for an ice cream treat every time your sweet tooth starts howling.  Oooor can you??

Outshine Fruit Bars

Pssst…the answer is Y.E.S.  Yes you can, with Outshine Fruit Bars, weighing (sorry!) in at only 80 calories each!

How on EARTH did it take me so long to try Outshine Fruit Bars!  I am pretty glad I was introduced to these recently (as was Paul).  And even more we actually had a blast photographing (and sampling) these beauties.  If you spend any time in the social food community – any other Pinterest lovers out there? – you know that citrus is HUGE right now.  Meyer lemon, grapefruit, blood orange, you name it.  Winter citrus is all over the place, including in Outshine Fruit Bars.  They sent us two of their Seasonal Picks to try out – Grapefruit and Blood Orange.

Outshine Fruit Bars

Let me start with the Grapefruit bar.  I’m not typically a fan of grapefruit.  It’s a bit tangy for my liking and makes my cheeks tingle.  But this bar has all of the flavor of grapefruit and keeps the tingle to itself.  It’s really refreshing without being so tart and tangy as an actual grapefruit.  And next the Blood Orange bar.  First, the color.  Do you see that deep red color?  You can’t help but take a bite, and then another, and then just finish off the bar and open another because the flavor is all there.  I absolutely loved the Blood Orange bar and honestly pretty excited that I still have a couple of boxes hanging out in my freezer for later!

And after browsing the Outshine website, I think I might run out to the grocery store and buy a few more flavors – pomegranate! lemon! mango! pineapple! blueberry!  Is your mouth watering yet?  Good, you should go ahead and run out and grab some of these ASAP.  Follow along with Outshine Fruit Bars on Facebook.

I have a box of the coconut ones in my freezer as I write this! I love eating them and pretending it’s summer, haha.

Because of your post I went and got some and they are so yummy. I got the coconut water with pineapple (hoping it would be like a pina colada) and it was very close. Super refreshing and a perfect way to satisfy my sweet tooth at night without feeling gross. Thanks!

I love these bars! They were passing them out after a 10k I ran over the summer. I buy them all the time now…. However, have not had the grapefruit ones. Those sound killer.

I crave cold and sweet treats all year round! Confession: The hubby and I swung through the drive thru just last week so we could get swirl cones. These seem like a much better way to curb the craving. So colorful too…at least it would make me feel like it’s warm outside!
