Imperial Sugar/Dixie Crystals Recipe Contest | Rustic Pear Cranberry Galette

Rustic Pear Cranberry Galette

Can you believe it’s time to start thinking about Thanksgiving recipes?  Well, if you are a major planner, you might have thought everything out already, and maybe you have even tested some recipes.  What if I told you that you could win some holiday shopping cash for those recipes? Well, my friends, if you have an original recipe, then you can share them with Imperial Sugar/Dixie Crystals and have a chance at winning.  I am going to share a couple of mine and I need your help.

Something about Thanksgiving makes me think pies, tarts and galettes.  This pear cranberry galette combines classic Thanksgiving fruits in a buttery, flakey, sugar-sprinkled pie crust that is super simple and a unique Thanksgiving dessert.  I was delighted to share it with Imperial and am even more excited to share it with my family at Thanksgiving.

Imperial Sugar/Dixie Crystals is looking for the best, original, delicious homemade Thanksgiving recipes from YOU! Maybe your grandmother made the best gravy or you have been stashing away your family’s famous pie recipe.  Well, now is the chance to share it with others.  Imperial Sugar/Dixie Crystals wants to see and taste your creations and award the best recipes.  First place will be rewarded with a a $500 gift card!  Second place wins a $300 gift card and third place wins a $200 gift card.

All of the rules can be found on the Imperial Sugar Contest page but the basics are this: you join the Imperial “Sweet Community” by signing up for a free account.  Once logged in, you can share as many recipes as you would like as long as they are all original, unique and use at least one teaspoon of Imperial sugar.  Don’t forget to share a photo of your recipe too!

Some details to remember:

You have until November 23rd, 2012 and your recipes must be your original creations.  All entrants must meet eligibility requirements outlined in the Official Rules.

Entries will be judged by Imperial’s Chef Eddy and the winner will be announced Friday, December 2, 2012.

So here’s where I need your help: which original recipe of mine should I submit? Let me know by leaving a comment below.  I was thinking one of these:

Peanut Butter Pretzel Bars
Butterscotch Chip Cookie Cake
Brown Butter Bourbon Spice Cookies
Pumpkin Spice Granola
Cinnamon Streusel Apple Pizza with Brown Butter Cinnamon Sugar Cookie Crust

I have been working with Imperial to develop some Thanksgiving recipes and you can see this one for the Rustic Pear Cranberry Galette on Imperial Sugar’s website.  Take a look around and be sure to enter the Thanksgiving Recipe Contest by November 23rd!

I love the combination of pear and cranberry; this sounds like such a great way to end a special meal. As for your other recipes, I would probably go for the apple pizza myself…I have a real soft spot for that recipe!

Because it’s a holiday contest, I would submit this one. But….the bourbon cookies, the butterscotch cookie AND the pretzle bars (couldn’t make it up) all 3 of them – I have had my eye on and are pinned so I can make them!

    Shanna@ pineapple and coconut — November 6, 2012 @ 1:50 pm

I love anything to do with brown butter and bourbon so that’s my vote.
I love the galette – I like the more “non-traditional” desserts, I am not a huge fan of pie so when I see a twist on a holiday dessert or even a new one like this one I am more apt to make it. I will be making this one! Good luck in the contest!
