Food Blog Forum Wrap Up

Source (via Pinterest)

I’m back to Kansas City and rested after the 16-hour road trip to and from Nashville.  The Food Blog Forum was full of amazing people and I am bursting at the seams with great information, inspiration and energy to continue doing what I’m doing.

We arrived just in time for lunch on Friday where we ate at Burger Up.  I will be trying my hand at the burger that I had very soon with hopes to share it with you.  All I will say is that it was meatless and it was probably one of the best burgers I’ve ever had.

Friday night was the welcome party and was full of smiles, handshakes and hugs from “friends” whom I’d never actually met in real life and I thoroughly enjoyed it.  Arnold Myint (from Top Chef) did a demonstration of lentil tacos and Pumpkin Apple soup that was to-die for.  My mouth is watering thinking about it…it was full of Indian spices like cardamom, cinnamon, tumeric, etc. and it had a beautiful creamy texture that was finished with coconut.  It was amazing!

Saturday was occupied by some top-notch bloggers filling my brain with lots of very useful information and inspiration.  If you don’t know the White on Rice Couple and/or Steamy Kitchen, please check them out. You won’t be sorry. Oh, and the whole weekend was chalk-full of awesome swag and door prizes, of which I got the hookup from Oxo…I’ve already used my mixing bowls,  travel coffee mug and handheld egg beater.  I also have a stainless steel mandolin slicer that I can’t wait to rip out of the box.

Saturday night we got to socialize and experience a little of downtown Nashville which included a lot of burgers at the Hard Rock Cafe.  There might have been one with peanut butter and banana…and it might have been my favorite of all (we tried 6!)  In all, it was an unforgettable weekend.  I came home with many new friends and feeling very inspired.

I horribly neglected my camera so didn’t end up with many photos to share.  Here is Lindsay’s wrap up of the event: Food Blog Forum Wrap Up

Recipes to come this week, I promise!
