Cranberry Orange Blondies

Cranberry Orange Blondies

I feel like all I have been doing lately is eating. We have already kicked off family Christmas celebrations, starting this past weekend with my family. Everyone was together at my parents house. Paul and I were the last to arrive and we walked in to FOOD. I think every surface of the kitchen counter was covered.

I’m really not exaggerating. We had meatballs, sausage and cheese tray, dips, cheese balls, dips and more dips. And crackers and veggies and well, you see where I get my love for food. I was born into a family who loves food.  We had a great celebration and of course we had dessert before it was all said and done.
Cranberry Orange Blondies

I have been spending plenty of time on holiday desserts lately and these cranberry orange blondies are among the product. I fell in love with blondes a few years ago – they are so buttery and sweet.  And can you say E. A. S. Y. to make? A few stirs and some baking time and you have dessert. And when you throw in crash cranberries and orange zest, you have a fun elegant Christmas desert just waiting for family and friends to devour.

I created this Cranberry Orange Blondie recipe for my friends at Imperial Sugar and the recipe can be found on their website!

Cassie, I feel you on the massive food overload (note: I am typing this after eating part of a sugar cookie for breakfast, followed by a super-frosted scone). I tell myself that every dessert will be “the last one I make,” but let’s be real: now I need to add these beautiful blondies to my list!

Mmmm, cranberry and orange are so perfect together this time of year! I made scones a few years ago with the combo and my mom won’t stop talking about them, so I might need to put these on the to-do list for her next 🙂

Great recipe. Making it now. Love the fresh flavors. Just a point. I don’t see where the recipe ever says to add the zest. I added it with the vanilla before the cranberries were folded in but it really doesn’t mention when that is added–unless my work-weary eyes are missing it. Thanks. Smells great in the oven!!

Really pretty when baked. So festive for the season with the bright red cranberries (and not fake color!) and the rich brown of the blondies. Thanks for the email about the zest. We appreciate you taking care of us!
