Cinnamon Clove Coffee Cookies
As I mentioned this week, this holiday season has seen no shortage of cookies. But, really, what would the holidays be without cookies? All kinds of cookies – even cookies with cloves!
When Katrina started rounding up participants for her second-annual I’ll Bring the Cookies event, I was so excited to join. But I had no idea which cookies to bring – especially with so many amazing bakers joining in. So I took a deep dive back to my early teen years and created a cookie that has a fun story behind it – Cinnamon Clove Coffee Cookies. Don’t be turned off by the name. Most people turn up their noses a bit but I promise your holiday senses will be heightened after you have one of these!
This recipe is heavily based on some toffee coffee cookies that I made a while back – the base is a sweet, chewy cookie dough and I just changed up the add-ins here. Don’t be fooled by the cloves – they’ll be the perfect match for the cinnamon and coffee and will definitely smell & taste like Christmas!

Cinnamon. Cloves. Coffee. Yes.
I LOVE cloves!! And coffee and cinnamon, but cloves are so under-used in baking. Thanks for representing 🙂

Such fun flavors in this! Heading over to get the recipe!
I am obsessed with cloves!! Love the sound of these.
Coffee is my favorite unexpected cookie ingredient! I could go for one (or three) of these cookies right about now.
These sound wonderful and such a great story. What part of Kansas were you from? I went to KU and then lived in KC for several years after college. I loved it there but decided I needed to go back home. I may know your parents if they went to KU.

What a small world! I live in KC now…my parents are from SE Kansas…Fort Scott/Pittsburg area which is where we have all graduated from college too. I love meeting people from this area!
So true. I have been baking all week. One for me, one for them 😛 I’m going to be twice my size by after Christmas! Great flavour mix love 🙂
Oh Cassie, these sound perfect! I love cloves, and coffee is such a unique flavor for a cookie. Must try these!
What an interesting combination. I agree — your house must smell fantastic!
those look great. one doesn’t see many recipes which feature the taste of cloves and is a spice i like. however i’m not big on coffee in baked items mainly because i don’t don’t have it around – is there something else i can use?

Hi Jacquie, you can just leave it out if you wish. You could add some nutmeg or cloves for added holiday spice!
Sounds like a great combination of flavours! The scent of cloves always makes me think of Christmas too 🙂
Gosh, Cassie, these cookies look amazing! I love the addition of clove and coffee–I bet it tastes heavenly with the cinnamon!
Ooh this looks so good!!
These just scream Christmas! I love cinnamon and clove – so cozy!
Wow, just wow. These look insanely creative. Coffee is my addiction and now I can eat it in cookie form 🙂 happy baking!
WHOA. I want to make these JUST so the house smells good!!! MY FAVORITE SMELL EVER!! Maybe I’ll just toss some orange peels in the oven too. No? Too much? HAHA
These sound interesting! I’ve often wondered why there are no “cinnamon cookies” but now the world has cinnamon clove coffee cookies. Sounds even better, I think. 🙂
