Biscoff Banana Grilled Cheese
I am only slightly obsessed with Biscoff spread. No need to form an intervention. YET.
I even managed to sneak it into no-bake cookies on Saturday. You’ll see.
This post is short for a couple reasons:
1 – yesterday was my wedding anniversary. We spent the day shopping here and here. At place #2 we bought a new computer (because I dropped mine on our concrete floors) so while I am writing this post, I am really itching to play around on it and edit photos on the huge-mongous monitor that is currently lighting our entire loft.
And 2 – what more is there to say about Biscoff spread? It needs few words other than a) I love it. b) you need to try some now. and c) has anyone ever mentioned that is goes perfectly with cream cheese and bananas?
Hello, why has no one ever told me? I scarfed this one down, and nearly immediately made another. This combo is (dare I say it?) better than PB+banana? Sorry, Elvis, but peanut butter has forever met its match. Move on over.

Biscoff Banana Grilled Cheese Recipe
Yield: 1 sandwich
Cook Time: 6 minutes
Sweet, caramel-y Biscoff spread sneaked its way into a sandwich with caramelized bananas and cream cheese. Grilled to perfection and sweet as honey.
Ingredients:
1 medium banana, sliced
2 tsp. honey
2 slices sandwich bread (I used Udi's Gluten Free)
2 Tbs. creamy Biscoff Spread
2 ounces cream cheese, thinly slicedDirections:
Heat a small skillet over medium-low heat. Add the banana slices and drizzle with honey. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until caramelized and golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
Heat a griddle pan, panini press, or skillet over medium heat. Butter one side of each piece of bread. Place one piece of bread, butter side down, on the pan. Spread a thin layer (1 tablespoon) of Biscoff on the bread, top with the bananas and cream cheese. Spread the remaining Biscoff on top of the cream cheese, and place the other slice of bread on top of the cream cheese, butter side up.
Cook the sandwich for 3-4 minutes on each side until the bread is toasty and the cheese is melty.
Serve warm.

Oh I love this, Cassie!

Thanks Lauren!!
Ive never heard of Biscoffs spread but from the looks of this sandwich I need to find some. It looks heavenly.
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:20 pm
It’s made from Biscoff cookies…sort of the consistency of PB but sweet, caramely and so good! I buy it at Wal-Mart, Target, World Market and some local grocery stores.
THIS is pure, delightful, evil. We’ll do the intervention when your jar runs out, okay?
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:20 pm
Sounds like a good deal to me. I guess I need an endless supply then, huh?!?!
Woah, woah, WOAHH! Cassie you are amazing. Lunch…here I come! 😉

HOLY YUM!! Cassie this looks incredible – so gooey! What a yummy lunchtime treat. I actually have a jar of TJs cookie butter, I bet that would be amazing in this sandwich since I don’t have biscoff spread!
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:22 pm
I bet you are right! I use them pretty interchangeably!
Ohhhh yeah!!! Come to Mama! Looks great Cassie!

Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:23 pm
I was just saying that I need a panini press with all of the grilled cheese sandwiches I’ve been eating!
That sounds perfect. I just made a regular grilled cheese sandwich but I’m sure this would have been better! I love the creativity. 🙂

I want one of these now! I passed the Biscoff at the store the other day; I can’t believe I did. I just don’t trust myself around this stuff but I am caving in and grabbing a jar when I am at the store so I can make this pronto! 🙂
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:13 pm
I have to make myself pass by it at times because I don’t trust myself by putting it in my cart. Hope you enjoy this!
Cassie, this is just insane in the best way possible 🙂

Cassie, you are killing me with this biscoff! I have got to find it up here in Canada!
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:12 pm
Ahh, I’m sorry Steve!! I hope you find some soon!
I love this so much that it makes my brain hurt to think about it.
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:12 pm
I know how you feel!
I probably shouldn’t tell you that I have an unopened jar and package of cookies sitting in my pantry right now huh? I bought double and have managed to hold off on opening the extras.
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:12 pm
Yeah jars do not stay unopened for very long in my house. And then they rarely last very long once they do get opened. It is my current weakness, no doubt!
OMG! This looks so incredibly addicting and delicious! Great combo!
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:10 pm
Thanks so much Mercedes! It’s a new favorite.
This is a delicious blend of some rich ingredients. However, I am sure it will satisfy any sweet craving and I will not be hungry for quite some time. This sandwich does put a different perspective on grilled cheese-so bravo to your creative mind! Have a nice evening!
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:18 pm
It is definitely a sweet sandwich but amazing! Thanks Tina!

Don’t mind if I do!

OMG this looks so yummy! I have not tried Biscoff yet, but saw some at the store today. I resisted getting it. Now I wish I had!
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:17 pm

These sound fabulous, Cassie! I have two jars of Biscoff spread in my pantry…and this is a recipe I must try!!!

I might have to shed a tear over this post 🙁 Alas, I still can not find Biscoff spread in my city. This looks amazing, I am going to have to keep looking!
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:16 pm
Oh no! Hopefully it will turn up soon, it’s becoming more and more popular!
You’re insane! And I absolutely love it 🙂
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:16 pm

Ive had peanut butter and banana but never biscoff! Brilliant!
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:10 pm
Thanks Ann!!
I just received a jar of biscoff from Lindsey over at Gingerbread Bagels so I can actually make these babies! I think I’ll make them for breakfast so I can start off my day with something freakishly awesome 🙂
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:09 pm
Let me know what you think? Are you addicted yet?! 🙂
Happy Anniversary! What a fabulous idea to use biscoff in this delicious sandwich.
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:09 pm
Thanks so much!
Oh.. my…..slurp! What a great grilled “cheese”. 🙂 Amazing! I am so sorry to hear about your computer. My external hard-drive totally crashed over the weekend and it backed all my food pictures… I had a small meltdown. 🙁 I bet you’re totally excited about the new computer.. it sounds like a dream computer. 🙂 So happy you had an amazing anniversary. 🙂
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:08 pm
I would absolutely melt down! Luckily I was able to see enough of the screen to transfer all of my documents to the new computer but a backup is always a good idea. I hope you can recover them somehow!
This looks really tempting!
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:07 pm
It is definitely that!
This looks wonderful! I just got my first jar of cookie butter on Monday and I can’t wait to use it! Thanks for the idea of pairing it with cream cheese and bananas! xoxo
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:06 pm
Have you opened it yet? I have almost zero self control when I open a jar!
Utterly delicious… I love biscoff & cream cheese & bananas… this recipe is my new to-do!

Oh my gosh! I love pb and bananas together and I can only imagine how good it is with biscoff!!
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:05 pm
That’s definitely where the inspiration came from. PB+bananas is one of my favorite sandwiches ever (with a little honey!)
Oh my how I too love Biscoff! I sometimes joke with my kids that they need to call me up and make me their spokesperson!
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:04 pm
No kidding. I would love to be their spokesperson! 🙂
I’ve never tried Biscoff yet. I do make banana & nutella sandwich sometimes for my kids. Cream cheese sounds good. Better find Biscoff first. 🙂
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:04 pm
I find it at Wal-Mart, Target, World Market and some local grocery stores too. Hope you love it, I know I do!
You’re my hero – like, for real. I’m so going home and making this. Not even kidding.
Cassie replied: — May 9th, 2012 @ 4:46 pm
I wish we were neighbors, then you could make me one and we could just eat Biscoff all night. That would be marvelous!
not THAT is a sandy!! wowee! I want that.
Cassie replied: — May 11th, 2012 @ 3:40 pm
Thanks Meg!
I just had a crepe the other day that was filled with bananas and covered in Biscoff. I loved the combo, (although there was too much Biscoff so it overpowered everything else). I think this sandwich sounds perfect!!
Cassie replied: — May 11th, 2012 @ 3:42 pm
Wow, what a great idea. I will have to try making crepes with this combo!
This is genius!! I love that it’s grilled too!
Cassie replied: — May 11th, 2012 @ 3:42 pm
Thanks Stephanie!!
I am drooling looking at this sandwich.
This looks ridiculously awesome. I’ve never tried Biscoff spread but I have definitely dominated some Cookie butter from TJ’s. There’s no shame in that!
OMG! I just recently discovered Biscoff and have been putting it on everything! Or eating it straight from the jar. This grilled cheese looks awesome! I will have to get another jar of Biscoff since I just polished mine off this morning for breakfast.
Cassie replied: — December 31st, 2012 @ 9:21 am
I know what you mean! I have many Biscoff recipes on my site, I love it too! And just recently I sandwiched some between two pretzels and then dipped them in white chocolate…amazing!
This grilled cheese looks so delicious. Have you entered it in the Grilled Cheese Academy’s recipe showdown? If not, you should! Here’s the website: http://grilledcheeseacademy.com
