A little housekeeping... - Bake Your Day

A little housekeeping…

Taking a quick break from regularly scheduled popcorn, cookies and pretzels to take care of a little business that effects all of you who receive my posts via RSS/a feed reader.

Note: if you receive new posts via email, social media or just by typing in the URL from time-t0-time, this won’t really matter much to you!

I have moved my daily RSS feed from Feedburner to FeedBlitz.  What does this mean for you?  Nothing really, except you’ll need to resubscribe to the correct feed.  If you received this via Feedburner, the post likely looked like this: (you also might have noticed an ugly yellow bar, depending on which feed reader you use)

You’ll need to click on the link that says http://feeds.feedblitz.com/bakeyourday and resubscribe to my feed to continue to receive new posts in your feed reader, whichever one you like the best.  You should be able to search for the new feed by typing in the site URL or by using http://www.bakeyourday.net/feed.  You can also unsubscribe from the old feed.

If you aren’t sure what to do, please email me (bakeyourdayblog (at) gmail (dot) com and I’ll walk you through it!  Happy Thursday, friends.  Now, should we have some cookies tomorrow?

We’re all doing housekeeping this week it seems! Lol. You, Rebecca, and I all have the same posts. I loathe this technical stuff….don’t you wish we could just cook!? Resubscribed my love!

Thank you, Amy! I hadn’t noticed your post when I was on your site earlier this morning. I’m just having trouble with the feed updating…it’s either slow or not working. Reaching out for help now 🙂

Good choice; I’ve used FeedBlitz for some time and do recommend it to my web clients. I can now sleep at night when Google makes their changes…and you can too! 🙂

Thanks, Barbara! I like it so far but having trouble with the feed updating immediately like it did with feedburner. I’m not sure what the problem is but I have reached out to see if I’ve done something wrong. Thanks so much!

I posted this info yesterday and posted the dumplings today. Having issues with the FeedBlitz migration this morning too and have been e-mailing back and forth with my tech guy. Didn’t look like my feed went through. I cleared my cache and refreshed my browser and it is there (whew), and it did deliver via e-mail (whew), but not anyone’s reader…yours didn’t show up in my reader either. Either Feedly is just super sloooow OR your redirect with Feedburner is set up wrong.

I need to change mine as well. Not looking forward to making the changes.

Honestly I have you set up in both my Google Reader and my Mac’s version of Reeder (love it!!) and your feed came thru fine as always; didn’t have to change a thing. I assume it was thru Feedburner and somehow it still worked…but maybe that’s only temporary. All this stuff gives me sweaty palms when it all changes!

Somehow both yours and Amy’s posts showed up in feedly without me having to do anything, without the yellow box telling me to switch…so I’m not sure what’s going on. But I’ll keep an eye out for it!
